Hey Modesto.. Looks like the Modesto Bee will be closing their printing press here in Modesto and your local paper will be coming from Sacramento. My phone is still on fire here, but IM trying to get the latest 411 on this for you as of now! Friends, Please pray that this isn’t so. The Modesto Bee at one time had about 700 employees under their wing. We just can’t afford to lose any more jobs here locally people..
Does anyone have any information on this they can share with us!

MODESTO, Calif. -- Eighty Modesto Bee positions may be eliminated and the paper could be printed in Sacramento come September, the president and publisher of the newspaper said Friday in a note to employees.
According to the proposed plan, The Modesto Bee would be printed on the presses of its sister paper, The Sacramento Bee.
"Although we are still working through various transition and operational details, it is clear that this move makes both financial and operational sense," Modesto Bee publisher Margaret R."
Randazzo did not immediately return a call to clarify if the affected employees would lose their jobs altogether or be reassigned.
"This change in our business model would result in the reduction of approximately 80 equivalent full-time positions," Randazzo wrote. "Again, we are still working through many transition details, so employees affected by the change would be notified of the impact on their jobs and severance package details once plans are finalized."
Mark S. Vasche, editor and senior vice president of the paper, declined to comment and referred questions to Randazzo.
Prepress and page make-up functions would still be handled in Modesto, Randazzo said.
The Idaho Statesman and The Bellingham Herald, two other McClatchy Co. newspapers, recently announced that they will be printed by nearby newspapers, Randazzo said.
The Modesto Bee is currently printed in Modesto.
"Moves such as this enable us to navigate to a more stable and prosperous future as an integrated media company continuing to service as our community's most trusted supplier of news and advertising information," Randazzo wrote.

On The Cutting Edge & Come Together
I am so privilege to be working with so many great bands here and abroad. If you haven’t been to one of our shows lately, your missing out. So you don’t know of the artist that’s playing for that night at Queen Bean.. So your part of another band and are to cool to be seen at someone else’s show. Big deal.. Get over it. LOL
Isn’t it about time to see and get familiar with something different. Isn’t it about time to stick around after your set and show some respect and love for the band that fallowed you.
Isn’t it time to come together.. Right now.. Over Me..
Ok so I got that lyric from the Beetles.. Smiles:)
I guess Angie Good from B93 one put it all in a great perspective.. Check out my interview with her for The Modesto View Magazines July Issue. Modesto Famous! We at Queen Bean love you all! We thank you for considering our deck to stage your talent. Recently, I have dialed in some more great Artist from Modesto and also as far away as Texas, Florida, Seattle and New York. Proud To Be A Parishioner
It’s Sunday Morning and I’m getting caught up on the 411 in our Modesto Bee. As I browse through the Saturdays Modesto Bee, I noticed a wonderful piece on our new church that all at Saint Stanislaus have been working so hard to make a reality.
Below is the link and the wonderful piece put together by,
SUE NOWICKI
Friends, if you haven’t been to our parish, stop by sometime. Me, I fallowed my fathers footsteps there and I am now an usher. Look for me, I am the man that can hook you up with a front row seat. Smiles.. Hey! Why not the front row; I always tell my friends, where would you want to sit if you where going to see your favorite artist in concert? “The Front Row So it makes total sense.. Why not the front row when going to worship the Lord! Yes!.. Trust me, he is way better than any Artist you will ever see.
Friends, our Parish is strong and everyone is always welcome to stop by. When the new church is ready for worship, I will be very proud of it and it will show how so many people; not just Catholics… but so many people appreciate and Love the Lord in building such a marvelous house of worship. Peace be with you..

Nice Job Mrs. Sue Nowicki
Kudos going out to the City of Escalon
Kudos going out to the City of Escalon for promoting a healthy lifestyle with The Shadow Chase Running Club. The Park Fete is a great family festival and Saturday morning it started out with a healthy Shadow Chase race... The run proved to be a great time and many of the families headed over to the festival afterwards to enjoy Escalon’s own Park Fete..
Me, I was fortunate not only to enter the race, but had the privilege of Entertaining the folks after I crossed the finish line. As the theme song from Rocky played in the background, I jumped back on the course and encourage the runners to pick up the pace to sprint to the finish line and complete their run like the winners they are.
The turnout was huge for the 2 mile and 10K run. Even though I would have loved to race in the 10K, duty called so I was only able to bust out the 2 mile. Didn’t do too bad, 13:26 was my overall time for 2 miles. Not to bad for an old guy. Smiles, well my next run is the wharf to wharf in Santa Cruz, then I’m off to do the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon in San Francisco. I’m so excited! It’s a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz to San Fran, then a 10K run fallowed by a 13 mile bike ride. The biggest challenge here is not the Tri, but getting my family to be cool with me competing in it. I mentioned this to my sister, Deb, her reply, “No your not brother, I’m telling mom. LOL. Well wish me luck here, I will work on my family. Me, I am all about temping faith and when I do this swim, I will write Shark Bait on the side of my body! LOL Shark Bait OO Ha! Ha! “Finding Nimo Oh Nats OK with me doing it, but she don’t want me to do the swim either. Again, it’s the shark thing! Big deal, at 160lbs I would be more of a snack then a meal. Giggles.. But, still I’m a fighter and that shark would have to catch me first. Winners finish with attitude winners finish with Praise.. Praise God, I love to Run!
Enjoy the pics of this mornings run.

Booking at Queen Bean
Thank you all for your patients, It seems the call are endless here and the emails keep coming in. Thank you, we do our best to provide our local area artist with a safe and sometimes sane venue. Smiles.
Honestly, between my own business, my training and family, I can’t always get back to you as soon as I would like to. So, again! I thank you for your patients. Right now we are booking for September and October at Queen Bean in Modesto. The best place to reach me is at me email backstageboy@yahoo.com or at our myspace. http://www.myspace.com/queenbean_booking_modesto There you can check out our calendar of events and look for an open spot. The general rule of thumb here, is if you see a date that’s booked already by another band and you would like to open up for them; it must be OK’ed by myself and the band that previously booked the spot. This insures that we are able to keep the same flavor we are serving for that night. It’s all good.. No explicit lyrics & a good attitude is always best in any show.
Below are a few dates open as of now.. See our calendar for other open spot below. http://www.myspace.com/queenbean_booking_modesto
Sept 5th 12th 19th open as of now..

The Politics of Dancing
OMG Nat & I had a great time last Thursday night at The Speakeasy.
In fact, when we got there; the place was about full but everyone was just swaying to the music and getting social with their drink on. OK, here’s the Blow.. Nat & I Cracked that dance floor wide open.. Yes Modesto Famous, We actually danced there, not grinned & nor did we ever do the Bump. LOL. It was all about freestyle dancing with some good Retro Beats.
Nat & I don’t go out dancing much just because we don’t move to RAP and we are all about the 80’s Retro.. Just like my Station.. www.thequakedj.net Anyway, the last time we went dancing was back in November and it was in the city of SF..
We Could Have Danced All Night Long!!!!!!!
Nat & I aren’t shy, we jumped on the open dance floor & others fallowed.. DJ CHOPSTIQS greeted us with an 80's Euro Set and I ate it up.. No wait, I macked it up.. In fact, the floor went clear for a moment and I could tell, many of the Speakeasy patrons weren’t accustom to seeing 2 people actually dance without being sexual at it. LOL Friends, their is an art to dancing.. I guess some of us forgot it in all that backing things up and booty grinding. LOL In reference, I think it’s also known as “The Politics of Dancing" “The Politics of oooo Feeling Good"
OK so The Speakeasy..
The atmosphere was awesome and we got loads of friendly smiles.
One of the nicest compliments came from a young gal who said, “Hi Five to you both" I love the way you guys dance, you defiantly are showing us up. LOL TBTG I feel great and I could have danced all night long..
